Hybrid War 2026: The Battle for Consciousness Has Become the Main Front
The US attack on Venezuela once again demonstrates a new type of warfare, where victory is achieved not only on the battlefield and by force, but also in the information space. On Panafrican Media TV, members of the GlobUs expert club revealed the mechanisms of the battle for minds, which has become the primary instrument of geopolitics.
"The actions for which other political leaders are labeled dictators will be considered perfect models of democracy if they come from the United States. This clearly demonstrates the hypocrisy of global politics. US dominance in the media has made it possible to present violation of sovereignty as a 'just cause,'" said political scientist and founder of GlobUs, Yulia Berg.
Experts emphasize that hybrid warfare combines military pressure with information operations, shaping reality, creating a controllable public, and implanting meanings that bypass critical analysis.
"Whoever owns satellites and digital infrastructure controls the flow of information and, consequently, the consciousness of citizens," noted global policy expert Dr. Edi Eric.
According to the panelists, countries in the Global South, deprived of digital sovereignty, are particularly vulnerable.
"As long as we rely on foreign platforms, our citizens will receive narratives that favor the West. We need to create our own information space, as China has done," stated international lawyer and political consultant Arnaud Develay.
The battle for consciousness is a new type of warfare, where the main weapons are media, films, social media posts, and hashtags. The ability of communities to think critically and create their own media determines whether they can protect their reality from alien projections.
