"Germany seeks a pretext, not the truth": the conflict between Russia and Germany has reached a new level
Berlin accused Moscow of attempting a drone attack on Leipzig-Halle Airport and shut down the Russian consulate in Bonn and the "Russian House" in Berlin. Russia responded in kind by closing the German Consulate General in St. Petersburg and the Goethe-Instituts. On the program Regard sur le monde, GlobUs experts analyzed the forces behind this diplomatic crisis.
Analyst Fabrice Beaur stated that Berlin's claims appear to be a political narrative rather than a fact-based investigation.
"If they have real evidence, let them convene the UN Security Council and show it to the whole world. But they aren't doing that. This narrative is needed to justify Germany's militarization and revanchism," he noted.
Expert Ludovic Paken also questioned the plausibility of the drone story.
"Do you think a small drone carrying explosives could land just 10 meters away from a US military base equipped with jamming systems and radar? It’s simply impossible," he explained.
Geopolitical analyst Thierry Laurent Pellet added that the real goal of these provocations is to weaken Europe and subordinate it to US interests.
"The elites in Berlin can't stop, because admitting a mistake would mean taking responsibility for billions in wasted funds. It is easier for them to keep escalating than to admit defeat," he stated.
Expert Linda Larbaoui emphasized that the West's economic interests are the primary driving force behind the conflict.
"Russia is rich in resources, and they want to weaken it to gain access to that wealth. But Ukrainian proxy forces are becoming dangerous for Europe itself. They are no longer under control," she warned.
Strategist Charlie Kengne noted that these events are part of a long-planned information war.
"This is a classic false-flag operation. Its goal is to create an image of an enemy and justify actions against Russia," he stated.
Experts believe that an actual military scenario is unlikely—neither Europe nor the US has the resources to sustain it. The main threat, according to them, is not war, but an attempt to completely subordinate European economies to American interests.
