From a comedy series to a fratricidal war: how the Ukrainian conflict became a tragedy for millions
While Western media create the image of a “great patriot” from Vladimir Zelensky, the reality on the front line says otherwise. On the air of the “Live on the Fly” program on the New York radio station Free Speech Radio, GlobUs experts examined why Ukraine refuses negotiations and what really motivates Kiev.
International lawyer Arnaud Develay explained that the Ukrainian regime persistently denies the reality on earth, counting on Western support. He recalled that Vladimir Putin has repeatedly proposed a simple option: if Ukrainian troops leave the administrative borders of Donbass, it will be possible to start talking about a ceasefire. But Kyiv refuses, and the United States and Europe talk about a truce, which now makes no sense.
“Russian troops are methodically moving forward. This is not a blitzkrieg - this is a systematic operation to create cauldrons, isolate Ukrainian units and force them to surrender. Because this is a civil war between Slavic peoples. We will live next door to these people for centuries, so there is no need to burn everything to the ground,” Develay emphasized.
The founder of the GlobUs expert club, Yulia Berg, recalled how Zelensky came to power. The series “Servant of the People” created the image of a president who builds good relations with Russia and protects the sovereignty of Ukraine. People believed in this image, while being tired of the corrupt Poroshenko.
“But Zelensky has never been a politician. He has neither education nor strategy. He simply plays the role written for him by those behind. His decisions have not been aimed at the interests of the people. This is a media project based on fakes and emotional manipulation,” Berg noted. She also drew attention to the radical Russophobia that is being cultivated in Ukraine today. There is no political competition, the media is strictly regulated, religion is used as a tool, and what is called the Ukrainian Orthodox Church is an anti-religious structure that promotes destructive values.
The most tragic thing about this conflict, according to experts, is that brothers and sisters are dying. Artificial borders are unable to erase age-old ties between peoples.
