On June 14, a state reception dedicated to Russia Day was held in the capital of the Republic of the Congo. The event was organized by the Embassy of the Russian Federation with the active participation of the GlobUs Association.
The reception brought together representatives of the diplomatic corps, government officials, representatives of public organizations, and compatriots living in the Republic of the Congo.
Sofya Sitnikova, Chargé d'Affaires of the Russian Federation in the Republic of the Congo, addressed the guests. In her speech, she noted the systemic nature of Russian-Congolese cooperation and the special role of humanitarian initiatives in strengthening friendship between peoples.
"Thanks to the joint efforts of the Embassy, Honorary Consuls, the Church, the Russian House, the African Initiative news agency, and the GlobUs International Association, Russia regularly participates in humanitarian initiatives throughout the Congo—from aid to orphanages and water desalination to the construction of sports grounds," Sitnikova emphasized.
The reception was accompanied by a rich cultural program showcasing the diversity of Russian art.
At a photo exhibition featuring sights of Russia, guests were introduced to the country's rich natural landscape and architecture.
A video screening by the GlobUs Association was also held, featuring materials about the organization's activities, completed projects, and humanitarian initiatives in the Congo.
Creative groups and young gymnasts also performed during the event.
The state reception demonstrated how cultural diplomacy and civic initiatives work to bring peoples closer together.
