"Lives will be saved": Avenir du Congo and GlobUs provided medications to patients at a Congolese hospital
A joint initiative by the Avenir du Congo Movement and the international association GlobUs has provided life-saving medications to patients at the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de Brazzaville (CHU) who previously had no means to pay for treatment.
The humanitarian aid came at a specific request. Dr. Ekieke-Tsangabira, who provides free consultations at the institution, faces the daily challenge of patients being unable to afford the necessary medications. He approached the Movement activists with a request for support.
"My colleagues and I used to buy medications ourselves to help the children, but our funds were insufficient. Therefore, I am very grateful for the donation of medications that will help save many lives," the doctor emphasized.
Having received a list of necessary medications, the Avenir du Congo Movement contacted the GlobUs association to organize the procurement. Through joint efforts, they were able to quickly acquire the items most in demand in the intensive care unit.
Commenting on the results of the campaign, Association President Yulia Berg noted that the organization is always responsive to incoming requests.
"This time, we met a specific request, providing medications for the pediatric intensive care unit, where doctors selflessly fight for the children's health. Health is the most important foundation. Especially when it comes to the health of children: the hearts of all relatives and others are crushed by the suffering of the youngest patients. We hope that this modest contribution will improve the patients' condition and restore hope and joy to them and their parents, who stand by their beds 24/7 alongside the doctors," Berg stated.
The first batch of medications has already arrived at the hospital, and the next will be delivered in the coming days.
