More than a thousand people—schoolchildren, parents, artists, and local residents—gathered in Kinkala on May 23. The event was held during the "L’Avenir de l’Afrique" festival, dedicated to the Africa Day and Children's Day.
The event was organized by the Globus International Association, the "Avenir du Congo" Movement, and the League of Russian University Graduates. The initiators were the BÎBA Club School of Arts and Mundongo College.
The stage featured rap premieres, slam in Lari language, and live sanza and balafon performances. The evening culminated with a performance by the "Pirates" dance ensemble from Pointe-Noire, finalists of the "Workshop of the Future" competition. Regis B, Yannick Noah, the BÎBA Theatre Studio, and a youth group from Boko also performed.
Among the honored guests on stage were Senator Chara Rebecca Moundele-Ngolo, Prefect Gilles Mukala Chumu, and Mayor of Kinkala Edwige Ndebeka. In her welcoming address, Anastasia Kuznetsova, representative of the Globus Association, emphasized the organization's main goal:
"Building bridges between cultures, the experiences of the past, and the energy of the future."
In turn, the senator thanked the organizers, and especially the head of the BÎBA Club, for their work with youth.
Throughout the event, the organizers sought to support talented youth, preserve the cultural heritage of the peoples of the Republic of Congo, and promote education through the arts.
