Strength and Flexibility: The Kabaeva Rhythmic Gymnastics Tournament Held in Congo
The second international tournament of Russian Olympic champion Alina Kabaeva was held in Brazzaville, organized by the Congolese Gymnastics Federation and Africa Centrum. The event, held at the National Gymnastics Center, brought together young athletes from across the Republic of Congo.
"Today we see young people choosing sport, discipline, and a healthy lifestyle. Their choice is a choice of fortitude, a choice in favor of creativity and responsibility. They are the hope and support of tomorrow," emphasized Globus co-founder Yulia Berg.
The tournament was attended by representatives of the Congolese government, Russian Ambassador to the Republic of the Congo Ilyas Iskandarov, and head of the Russian House, Maria Fakhrutdinova.
In his speech, the ambassador explained why the tournament was named after the Russian champion:
"Alina Kabaeva is not only a two-time world champion, a five-time European champion, and a six-time Russian champion; she is an inspiration to the best young Congolese athletes. Her journey is a story of titanic work, discipline, and unwavering will."
